Massachusetts has approved a significant cash voucher incentive for the Mullen THREE EV truck, making it more affordable for residents, businesses, and non-profit organizations in the state. The 2024 Mullen THREE, an all-electric Class 3 low cab forward truck, now qualifies for up to a $15,000 state cash rebate voucher under the MOR-EV program. This, combined with the $7,500 federal tax credit, brings the net effective price of the Mullen THREE down to approximately $46,000.
Managed by the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs’ Department of Energy Resources and administered by the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE), the MOR-EV program is aimed at promoting the adoption of electric vehicles to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide more equitable access to clean transportation options. The program incentivizes the purchase or lease of medium- and heavy-duty battery electric and fuel cell electric trucks, buses, and vans, catering to both individual and fleet acquisitions.
The approval of the Mullen THREE for the $15,000 cash rebate voucher is a significant step towards making electric vehicles more accessible to a wider range of customers. David Michery, CEO and chairman of Mullen Automotive, expressed that the Massachusetts cash voucher further enhances the affordability of the Class 3 electric truck, particularly for fleet customers.
In addition to the Massachusetts approval, Mullen has also obtained CARB approval for its 2024 and 2025 Class 3 model years, further solidifying its position in the electric vehicle market. The Company’s Class 1 and Class 3 commercial vehicles have received certifications from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and CARB, ensuring compliance with U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Moreover, the Mullen THREE is now eligible for up to a $45,000 cash rebate voucher through the California Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Program (HVIP).
The Mullen THREE is designed as a purpose-built Class 3 low cab forward EV truck with a robust payload capacity and a 125-mile range, making it suitable for urban last-mile delivery operations. The clean, top-of-rail design of the Mullen THREE chassis allows for various upfits to meet different vocational needs, including last-mile delivery, construction, landscaping, catering, and more. Customers in Massachusetts can purchase the Mullen THREE through Eco Auto, an EV dealer based in Tewksbury, north of Boston.
MOR-EV’s commitment to making electric vehicles more accessible aligns with Mullen Automotive’s mission to provide innovative and sustainable mobility solutions. With the approval of the $15,000 cash rebate voucher for the 2024 Mullen THREE, the Company aims to drive the adoption of electric vehicles and contribute to a cleaner and greener transportation sector.
